The GB4 Championship is a single-seater motorsport series based in the UK. The championship is operated by MotorSport Vision with support from the BRDC, and is aimed at young drivers graduating from karting or Ginetta Juniors. Pace Performance announces three drivers for the championship this year; John O’Donnell, Josh McLean and Torrin Byrne.
John O’Donnell
John O’Donnell: “Stepping into GB4 last year was a massive challenge, especially coming into the sport late and not having a karting background. Donington was a real deep-end experience, but it taught me exactly what’s required to compete at this level. The Pace Performance team has been instrumental in my development, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the team this season. For 2026, my goal is to master the UK’s iconic circuits, nail the fundamentals, and consistently move up the grid.”
Sean Byrne, Team Principal: “It’s great to welcome John back to the team for the 2026 GB4 Championship. I think it’s fair to say he surpassed all expectations at Donington Park. As part of a three-driver line-up this season, he’s going to have plenty more opportunities to learn and develop with us. He has shown a lot of potential and we are confident in his ability to make the most of this opportunity. We look forward to seeing him develop through the 2026 season.”
Josh McLean
Josh McLean: “Very excited to have re-signed with Pace for my second year in the GB4 Championship. Last year was incredibly valuable for me, and I can’t wait to get started with the 2026 season. Fighting for the top step on the podium is where I want to be, and I’m looking forward to putting all the hard work from the team and myself into action.”
Sean Byrne, Team Principal: “We’re really pleased that Josh has elected to come back to GB4 with us next year. Considering he had close to five years away from racing before the start of the season, Josh did a great job to reacclimatise himself, and his performances improved steadily as the year went on. We’re confident that with his underlying ability, he will impress in 2026.”
Torrin Byrne
Torrin Byrne: “I am really looking forward to the GB4 season ahead. We have already done a good number of days in the car. I look forward to building on what I have learnt in Ginetta Juniors and look forward to the season ahead.”
Sean Byrne, Team Principal: “After two years in Ginetta Juniors, it was a natural move for Torrin to move up to single-seaters in GB4 next year. He has developed strongly across those two seasons, and that development will continue with us in 2026. It’s going to be an extremely competitive season next year with a big grid, but we have confidence that Torrin can be a match for his rivals as the year goes on.”
