Rising British-Australian racing talent Kai Veitch has confirmed he will make the step from international karting into cars this season, joining Pace Performance in the highly competitive Ginetta Junior Championship, run by team principal Sean Byrne.
The move marks a significant milestone in Veitch’s development as he continues his progression along the traditional pathway toward professional single-seater racing.
Veitch, 15, has spent the past several seasons building a reputation across the European karting scene, competing in the Senior Rotax category against adult drivers while racing with KR Sport, a team renowned for developing young talent for higher levels of motorsport.
His karting journey began at a young age through arrive-and-drive karting before stepping into owner-driver competition in 2021. Within a few seasons he progressed rapidly from club racing to national and international competition.
Recent highlights include a standout performance at the Kartmasters British Grand Prix, where Veitch charged through the field from deep in the pack to secure a podium finish, the youngest to do so in the Senior category, in one of the most prestigious events in world karting.
The transition into the Ginetta Junior Championship provides a key bridge between karting and single-seater racing. The championship has become one of the UK’s most recognised entry points into professional motorsport, producing drivers who have gone on to compete in British F4, GB3, and international series.
Kai Veitch said: “Moving into Ginetta Juniors is a really exciting step for me. Karting has given me a strong foundation in racecraft and competition, but making the leap to cars is the next step in the journey. Working with Sean Byrne and the whole Pace Performance team is a great opportunity and I’m looking forward to learning as much as possible this season.”
Sean Byrne, Team Principal of Pace Performance, added: “Kai has already shown strong pace and racecraft in karting at a high level. The transition from karts to cars is always a big step, but he has the work ethic and preparation behind him to adapt quickly, in testing, he has shown his adaptability and pace. We’re excited to support him through his first season in Ginetta Juniors.”
Alongside his racing programme, Veitch continues his academic studies through Minerva Virtual Academy, allowing him to balance international competition with education.
The upcoming season will focus on learning, consistency, and building experience in car racing as Veitch continues his long-term aim of progressing through the motorsport ladder.
